how do you go about buying pistons and rods?

I have a b18b1block with the b17a vtech head. My motor is knocking so time to rebuild. I dont know how to go about buying pistons and rods.i will be building the head with stage 2 cams upgraded valves springs retainers etc.. individual throttle bodies. Im going for an all motor setup right now till i get bored with it. The block is all stock. Woul it be wise to use gsr internals for the block or buy aftermarket? What machining needs to be done to the block pr other parts needed?? Any help would be great thanks

Best help I can give you is that its vtec. Not vtech. Pretty crazy as its there on your Fkn head

You might as well go aftermarket and get forged internals, they aren't that much more expensive than oem.

My budget for the block is about a grand if more is needed than thats ok

with machine work you probably have maybe 700ish to spend to be conservative. I suggest going .25 over on the piston plus you need bearings and stuff so keep that in mind.

I would nix the ITBs unless you're going to do a full on build. You wont see gains that will warrant the cost of them with a bottom end spinning to 7000 rpms.

Im gonna fully build the motor for the itbs I just dont know how to go about buying pistons..all.motor no boost here
