How Can i Clean my engine

This engine has been sitting for about 6 months before i bought it it wasnt abused just not cared for, anyways i have rust and corrosion, as you can see, there is corrosion on my intake manifold, my brake booster theres paint chipping off of my valve cover, fusebox has corrosion almost everything in that area does too, any ideas? also a large amount of mold under the seat, all pretty gross but this car was sitting at a friends backyard and i bougth it for 300$'s what more can i expect

Dude thats how my car is. Im very interested in someones answer and places to buy busted plastic parts such as fuse box n stuff.

You can get most of the brackets relatively cheap on eBay and from junkyards.

You can repaint the valve cover.

As for the intake manifold, try gently filing the corrosion off first and see how that works.


As for the mold...you'll definitely need to take out the seats and either hand-wash the carpet or just replace it. I'd wash the floor off good too to make sure you get it all off.

You can spray the bay with a pressure washer, covering up the fuse box, dizzy, alternator, and battery. I would paint the VC, use super clean to get the shit off the head, intake mani, and some other things that are aluminum.

i bought engine degreaser from autozone and sparayed in on the engine and let it sit for 30min, then i power washed it and it made it look real good :)

I do the same thing. It's a piece of cake.
