Hondagod's major suspension overhaul thread

today, i got my federal tax return back. i decided to give myself a $1500 budget to spend on my car.
now, here is the story.

THE ORIGINAL PLAN, was to use the money for a Type-R motor swap. BUT that plan was shot to hell when i lost my job back in october. i wasn't able to save up the money, and i didn't find a job until just a few weeks ago. fortunately, the job is a very good paying job, so i'll be back on my feet in no time.

anyway, onto the NEW PLAN.
i decided that since i wasn't going to be able to do my ITR swap this year (still may be able to this summer, money permitting of course) i decided that another area of my car was going to get a major, and MUCH NEEDED overhaul. THE MOST IMPORTANT AREA OF THE CAR, THE SUSPENSION.

so here we go. here are the goodies i'm getting.
Koni Yellow w/ Ground Control Coil-overs $805 shipped:

Suspension Techniques Sway-Bar set (front and rear) $328.65 shipped:
http://robearracing.com/pd_st_swaybar.cfm
Goodridge Stainless Brake Line kit $115.95 shipped:

Energy Suspension Rear Trailing Arm Bushings $35.98 shipped:
http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=16.7107&cat=4176

that puts me at a grand total of $1,285.58. which falls well within my budget. looks like i'm going to order a few "appearance goodies" to finish it off for now. i'm going to order an ITR shift boot, and a Mugen shift knob. which will add a total of around $100 to the previous total.

can't wait to order the stuff! should be doing it tonight or tomorrow.

lol, tonight. the money is in my savings account, i need to go transfer it into my checking account first. will be doing that this afternoon, and then tonight i'm lighting up my debit/credit card!!!!!!!

can't wait, can't wait, can't wait.
btw, in case anyone asks, because i forgot to mention it earlier, the spring rates i'm going with are going to be 380F/450R. yeah, its a little stiff. but the roads in my area aren't that bad at all, and the car won't be a DD for too much longer. hoping to have a new DD by summer. so i'm willing to deal with a stiff daily ride ;)

I thought those urethane trailing arm bushings have been known to bind.
i'm willing to give them a shot. if they give me a lot of problems, i'll swap them out for OEM. they aren't very expensive (fortunately) so if they give me a bunch of problems, i'll get some OEM bushings. they can't be any worse than the blown bushings i have now, lol.

nice set up. let us know what you think about the sway. I've got the progress on the rear, and debated on doing the fronts. The SS lines.. I really didn't feel much of a difference in stopping power, but the pedal pressure felt more resistant. I got the RTAB's.. but can't find a shop to install it, so I'm kinda screwed there lol.

thanks guys, this will be the "official thread" i'll post up pics of the install along the way etc. for you guys.

thanks for the kind words, all. :) only thing i'm not going to be able to do on my own is the bushings. BUT, i have a shop that will do my alignment and press in the bushings for under (or around) $100 :)

not yet, some of my tax money is buying two new tires, and they will FINALLY go on the car. i can't wait to get them put on either.
