high idle.

i dont know lots about cars yet. just started getting in the scene. whats a good rpm for my car to idle at. it seems like my car idles high.

it's idleing around 2000 rpms sometimes higher sometime lower...

is this normal?

no its suppose to idle at about 750...if it doesnt bounce and its idling at 2000rpms after its warm..then adjust your idle..go to TI.net in the article section for instructions

Wait if its sometimes higher and sometimes lower that could just be that your engine isn't warmed yet. Try warming it for like 10 min and then check the idle. If its around 750 you're fine, if not then adjust it.

Yeah mine revs high when I first start it, but after 10 minutes of driving and then ill stop again and its normal. But heres the article on how to adjust it 8)

Mine did that last winter,and its doing it again. The car will be completely warm,and I'll let off the clutch/put it in neutral and the RPMs will be at about 750,then they will rise up to 2 grand and stay there. SOmetimes it goes right back down,but usually it'll go down after I stop a second. Its strange.
