Hey guys.

I was thinking about installing my head unit in my armrest box thingy, and just have it face up...

anyone seen anything like this?

ive seen stuff like that before too. but personally i think it being in the arm rest would be annoying. i just think its a bad spot for a head unit. plus i think the armrest is a bit too small the way it is now... just my opinion though. id think it over a little more

y dont you mount a reciever in the dash and put a cd changer in the trunk and just use a remote if you really want it hidden

i think its a good idea to hide it dont get me wrong. but think about if it were in the center armrest and you were driving down the road and wanted to change the station or change CDs or whatever... you would have to flip up the top and then either reach over with your left hand (which kinda sucks in a manual) or try to use your right hand which you would have to twist it all crazy in order to do whatever it is youre trying to do. and then more then likely you would make it so its facing the drivers seat so if your passenger wanted to see it then it would be all upside down.

i think you should try to be even more creative and come up with someplace else to put it. maybe make some type of hidden compartment  do it up james bond style 8)

I took a look at the teg today... besides the fact that it is milano "pink" from the fading it is in good shape... should be signing the papers tomorrow hopefully... so my projects of security will begin...

Btw my plan was to use the remote but I do see your point.

if you're afraid of thieves, what about a receiver with a detachable face? if not use different size bolts and screws to lock it down to the frame/brackets of the middle console. you gotta make it hard as possible for the thief to steal.

that's a really good idea...

they stole my player one time without the face plate...

my car has been a victim 5 times.

Ive seen the glove box, mainly so they can put gauges inplace of the stereo. I would get one with the steering wheel remote, that could solve some station changing problems.

i think you need a better security system first and then worry about where the deck goes
