HID Problem!!! HELP!!

So i got some HID's from the site featured in a reputable magazine and installed them. they are 9006 8000k plug & play. I had them for a month.....one f'in month & my driver side goes out. Long drawn ass story ut short, my socket f'ed up & I replaced it, yet the light still wont work. Running OEM bulbs while I figure wtf is the problem. I heard that the socket has to have a high temp rating in order to push that amount out to the ballasts & convert to the bulbs. Can I just cut thewires & splice them together? I cant return it & the ppl wont answer the phones. Help!!!:twisted::twisted:

well you should be able to use the working bulb in the other one to check to see if it is in fact the bulb that is the problem. if it isnt the bulb, its the ballast, and its bad. If its the wiring associated with the bulb end, you can just get a replacement bulb online for ~30 ish I think and it should come with that plug. Dont know if its safe to splice wires for the bulbs.

well I changed the ballasts & bulbs around & it did the same. So then I then put both bulbs & ballasts on the working side & switched them around & they worked. idk y it worked for one side but not the other even though I replaced the socket on the "bad" side. NOTE: I do notice that the "working" side is fine until I touch the OEM socket & the light turns off. Is there to much current passing through that the OEM is not capable of handling that?

Honestly running Kits on factory harnesses for al ong period of time can, not will but can cause the harness to fry itself and cause something of this sort, personally i wont run HID's without a wiring harness for them.

I'm not saying this is your problem but from the sound of it it's your ballasts aren't receiving enough power, or not consistently receiving power

So even though I ran them for a month it would f them up that bad? well I am in the process of trying to get them but I am waiting on them to answer the phones. hopefully I can get this working. Thanks guys.
