right now i have a set of ebay headlights on my car right now that i got a few years ago...i wanted to put HID's in them but i heard from a distributor on ebay say that you cannot put HID in these headlights cuz the lenses on them are not cut out to handle the high temps of the HID assembly...anyone can clarify on this it would be great thanks

The amount of heat is going to increase with a higher wattage bulb.

Which bulbs (halogen or hid) that you have a higher wattage?

well if im not mistaken i believe the HID kit sold by xenon, their bulbs are around 35W, correct me if im wrong. The Noyka bulbs that i have in their now are 80W. so you think i should be fine? what about fitment?

Just to clarify every thing for everyone, HID's do NOT run hotter then Halogen bulb's you could hold a HID light in your hand turned on an it would not burn you, only be warm. HID's do not even get hot enough to melt snow in the winter time where as Halogen will. the warmest part of HID's in projectors is actually at the shield and it doesn't even exceed 200F.

so HID's will work in your projector, they just say that cause HID kits may not be legal in your area. but the police would never know the difference if you got anything below 6000k

yea well i know that any HID kit that doesnt come from the factory and put on a car is illegal so that might be the reason

HIDs do get hot... but not as hot as halogens..

i play around with projectors all the time and from time to time i have to turn the HID capsules off because the projectors would get hot when I'm messing around with the shields.

but you should be good though. I have 6k in my DA and haven't been bothered yet.

my hid's get hot. i dont know how hot compared to the halogens though. but my hid's melted the plastic shield they came in. i didnt think they got hot, so i turned them on for the burn in still in the shield, and within about 5 minutes the plastic shield was melting. granted, i dont have a really nice hid kit (xentech), but they still get hot

well i checked the bulbs that i have now...they are 80W and are 10K...so i'm assuming that if i get an HID kit that is 35W and 10K it should be fine
