so, heres the story of my bitch of a car. or maybe myself... well who cares. im getting my integra gs ready for this years racing season. i race 1/8 mile oval asphalt. i had my car running 2 weeks ago, when i bent a valve. my timing slipped beacause i didnt tension the belt. got the head resurfaced, and all kinds a work on it, got it baack, installed it.

i got it all put together, went to start it, and it wouldnt start... it backfired seral times, puttered 2 or 3. but no start. also if i stay on the starter for more than 3 seconds, the smell of burning wire comes up... its the ground running from the front clip onto the valve cover. any suggestions? things to check? my mort is in time, and firing order is correct. unless the dizzy can be installed backwords, which i couldnt do when i tried

All b series have the same firing order I believe

what would be cauing my ground to be overheating? i just redid the firing order, went to start it, and the ground overheated and the wire melted. i cant find anything wired in the wrong order taht would cause a short.

ARe all the connections secure with the ground? Also is your dizzy on right...a loose one can mess with timing.

Your putting power to everything that should only be grounded.. You might cook the computer, so I would make sure nothing that + is touching anything thats -. Make sure that all the grounds are tight and clean, Your diodes in the alternator might of gone bad and is allowing your alternator to flow + power to flow through the car.
