ok so i posted something b4 and got NO response :( someone told me that due to the car starting but not staying on unless you are contiously pressing the gas pedal or holding open the idle control that this could be valves not adjusted correctly. it is getting gas cause there is PLENTY of it in the spark plugs after trying to keep it running. b4 trying to have the valves readjusted was trying to get some input on this. anyone please help !!!! oh and by the way all this started after we had a head and head gasket replaced

When you say "holding the idle control," you probably mean holding the throttle open on the throttle body.

I would say that the timing may be off (distributor not aligned correctly, belt skipped a tooth), weak spark (plug wires or plugs, cap and rotor). Your valves would have to be way off for that to be a problem. Sounds more like you are running rich (or your spark isnt strong enough to ignite the airborne fuel.

There are many Honda/Acura and Integra specific websites on the internet. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.

if thats the case, how is it getting air to idle in the first place?
Its not a perfect seal. I believe the way it works is that there is a hole that directs/leads air to the IACV, which restricts the amount of air coming through to control a proper idle RPM.

Throttle bodies may also contain valves and adjustments to control the minimum airflow during idle. Even in those units that are not "drive-by-wire" there will often be a small electric motor driven valve, the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV), that the ECU uses to control the amount of air that can bypass the main throttle opening.
This doesnt exactly pertain to integra's as the IACV is mechanical and not electronic, but you get the idea.
