help with alternator removal 91 Teg

Can any one confirm if you have to remove drive axle to get alternator out? Also, any hints on how to access the bottom mounting bolt? No room for socket and high up for wrench???

Yes.

Socket will fit... Just have to get at it from the bottom. Take the axle out first tho, clears up a decent amount of room.

what is the Easiest way to get the alternator out. without removing a bunch of parts.? aparently my Diodes are bad in my alternator... it charges. but when i shut the car off it drains the battery

i took out my alternator without removing axles or anything, i think i just had to take out my intake and a couple hoses, i was able to drop it and slide it out the intake side of the engine, it was a TIGHT squeeze though and it took patience

i pull the master cylinder out

Well bad news for me. I went from underneath, drained my oil. Pulled the filter, I couldnt get the axle bracket? bolts loose, So I went back up top Pulled the master cylinder out, And removed the Alternator bracket. Then I was able to pull the alternator out Now I just have to go buy a new alternator. brake fluid and Oil!

yes indeed. so for anyone that needs their alternator changed.. Pull the master cylinder and bleed the brakes!

I wiggled the alternator every which way from bottom and it wouldnt come out. But the top is good. I had to replace brake fluid anyway..

i slid it through the bottom to the left side of the motor then pulled it up

yup Acura sevice information to their technitions clearly say to remove the axle and go from the bottom. and it seems logical. my axles are out but im not duing alt. work yet lol but it has given me more room.
