I recently replaced my drivers side cv axle on my 96 ls and directly afterwords I took it for a test drive and I noticed that when I'm in 2nd or third gear trying to accelerate the car shakes pretty violently. Now you must realize I've replace 4 or five other cv axles on my own, in my lifetime, never having any problems. I'm thinking the NEW not remanufactured" supposedly" axle I bought may be faulty. I'm not sure. The car is fine in first gear and fourth also 5th. It's strange any help would be appreciated!

yeah, i have heard of selling of new axles being bad. they will shake when you frist put them in and then take a shit soon after. but on the other hand, i replaced mine on my dd accord and it shaked for like a month and now is just fine, no problems or anything. I actually completely forgot to check it out. but its my dd so i dont really care lol

Well I can tell you the bearing in the middle mount is fine and I only have little floor jacks and from what I can tell the inner part of the axle doesn't have any play in it. Could it be possible it needs to go in more or come out a smidgen from the trans ? I can't really see that being the case because the middle mount has those three bolts holding it in place. Thanks for your ideas

autozone axles suck. luckily, lifetime warranty means you can go get a new one whenever you want, usually no questions asked. I have gotten 23 new axles using my lifetime warranty thru autozone haha

Autozone is where I got it. I got the rightside one from advanced auto and it worked fine for four months now so maybe there's a difference
