Help me please!!!!!

GOTBOOST?

Who needs all motor?
So I have a JVC POS headunit and found a guy selling a brand new Alpine 9886 head unit and fell in love. The JVC was soldered and connected correctly and worked just fine. I bought a new harness knowing I was going to buy this new head unit and didn't want to deal with cutting the old harness. So I meet up with the guy and he has a spare harness already spliced and ready to be connected so I can test it and it worked just fine. When we left I had to give the harness back and so I drove home with nothing connected. When I got home it was about 10:00 on Saturday night so I didn't worry about installing it. Now I have connected the new harness to the new head unit correctly but when I plug it in it won't power on. So I took the old head unit and old harness and plug it in and it won't turn on either. I checked the fuse that said radio and cig lighter and it is fine. I noticed my clock stopped working the night i connected the new alpine unit and thought maybe it was just because I didn't have a radio plugged in. What the hell went wrong? Is there a security feature I don't know about? I tried disconnecting the battery for 10 seconds and then retrying and that didn't work and my clock still wont turn on. I know it's not the wiring for the new harness and I don't the stock harness is even giving out any power. Please help if you know whats going on. I'm sure it's small and dumb but I hate driving without music. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

great headunit thats mine. i had problems to just a week ago. did u cut the factory clip off? i had to wire mine by splicing the constant 12 v and ignition togeather and it turns on like that. that was the only way it wuld power on. the clock just connect the wires for illumination and it shuld work mine doesnt hold memory tho idk y

I'm sorry can you explain that a little more? All I did that I know of was wire the colors together and just plug in. I used a new harness instead of cutting the old harness.

well i cut my factory connector off cuz my local best buy didnt have a harness to fit and i didnt want to wait to oreder one so i cut that shit off. idk what to tell u tho if u just pluged a harness into the factory conncector on the car. u matched up all the wires correctly? i was saying that i took the constant 12 v wire from the radio and car and the ignition 12 v wire from both and connected all togeather and it powered on. i hope this helps if not good luck. its a sick headunit tho i love mine

Yeah it powered up perfectly when I went to pick it up and tested it but now it wont power on and I don't even think the factory harness is getting power. I checked the fuse and its good so I was thinking maybe it's a security issue or some type of factory safety precaution that when nothing is attached it stops power to that plug.

You said your HU has no power and the clock stop working. That tells me you have a blown fuse check your fuse box under the hood. I'm thinking if there is another fuse inside the vehicle? If both fuse are good. Thinking you have a loose wire. I would check the fuses first then your wire connection if they are all good thinking your ground wire..
