hey guys i have a quick question my friends has a 95 civic hatchback with a gsr block and a type-r head and a gsr tranny in his car he is trying to go turbo but when we took the car to the shop today they told him he should really try to change the head cause its to high of compression so i was wondering if you guys can tell me if there is anyway he can use his head and go turbo i know they make low compression pistons so can anyone give me some advice

If you put a PR3 head on a GSR block, it should lower the compression.

IMO that guy dosent know shit.

The P72 head has a 41.60 combustion chamber volume
The PR3 head has a 42.70 combustion chamber volume

With USDM B18C1 pistons you should be at 9.8:1
If they are JDM GSR pistons you should be at 10.3:1

With the P72 head.
USDM B18C1 pistons (p72-a0) 10.0:1
JDM GSR pistons (p72-00) 10.6:1

No the B16 head is the same as a type-r, just without the slight port and polish.

Are they CTR cams or ITR cams? Just curious.
