SOOOOOO my stock 90 b18 had a stalling problem today. As soon as i got to a light and it was at op temp, it would bog down and stall out. Took it to my mechanic and he said it was the distributor. NO OTHER ISSUES BEFORE, SHE RAN LIKE A BEAST. so i go buy one and they swapped it in. Well when he comes back to give me the keys, he says "yeah your throttle will be just a little bit heavy but shes good to go". So according to him, heavy means that with the pedal to the floor board, 0 to 60 in about a week. I took it around.the block and it ran 50 times worse than before i took it in. He said that its because the guy who owned it before put the spark plug in wrong and causes it not to fire correctly. I guess the threads are stripped or some shit and he says a new head will cost around 900. The plug was like that before and this problem DIDNT start until they swapped the distributor. Im seriously pissed off and dont trust the mechanic. Wtf is going on with my DA? seriously im lost here.......i need my ride back for xmas

I have a feeling they changed the distributor and it didn't fix the problem so they checked your plugs and screwed them up and now they just blamed the previous owner and nice title btw :thumbs up

Well a head does not cost any near 900 dollars..try looking for extraction tools maybe that will help

Yeah dude, heads aren't all that much. I've seen them as low as 50 but the average non-built is around 200-300. Then a head gasket. I'm pretty sure machine shops can re-thread the plug inserts.

Yall completely missed the topic.....but i fixed it. The "new" distributor i bought was shot so i returned it and got a better brand. Msd dist with NGK plugs and wires.
