Replacing my factory headunit and looking for the plug and play wirinng harness for a 97 teggy but cant find one I only can find the regular wiring harness with the plug at one end and the open wires at the other end http://www.metraonline.com/part/70-1720

Ive read that you can just cut and splice wires but Id rather go with the plug and play. Anyone know where I could get one Ive been researching and searchig for days :2confused lol

Im installing a Soundstream VIR-3600

theres no such thing as a plug and play harness.

those are the only harnesses thats available. one end plugs into the car, the wire end connects to the aftermarket stereo harness. theyre all different. thats why they have a wire end like that. all you do is match the wires.

Just so you know, if you order from crutchfield.com, they'll send you all installation hardware for free.

I just put in a new pionner head unit.

The wire say, left front, right front, left rear, constant power, ground, ect. Look at the radio diagram, connect the wire the radio says to the wire on the harness. Id be cautious of a premade harness, but im wierd, give it a shot!

Also, when you get a harness, you can wire it up to the radio inside a cool a/c house, the go outside and plug and play.

I have a detachable faceplate but I see people use dummy faceplates that make it look like you have a stock radio. anyone else do that?

I've seen it done, it's pretty easy. You hack up a stock stereo to do it, but when you park the car you just pop it on and no one is the wiser.
