ALL b-series header manifolds are interchangeable, I have a type-r replica header installed. notching the cross member isn't that bad, as long as you don't go over bored you should be good. Instead of cutting mine i gridded it down, didn't do to good of a job since I was pressed for time and rushed, the runners still hit the cross member due to lack of clearance eventually it vibrated so bad it cut into the cross member. I'm lucky the header didn't break . Either save your money and get the right part for your car or if you're going to do a custom job make sure you don't half ass it as to save you from future troubles.
PS.
Type-R and ls,rs,gs all have the same header length. if you get a gsr header you either, need to get a full gsr exhaust or lengthen the pipe of your existing/future exhaust. and more than likely you will need to get rid of the center crossbar that's under neath the car that goes from the front cross member to the back of the sub frame i think. 92-93 Gsr's didn't come with them. Anyone know why that is?
