The best buy guy explained to me "alpine is the best" and showed me different types of decks, pros and cons.

^ this specific style has the cd insert from the back of the deck. Thus it is more cleaner than the other style that just eats the cd from ontop of the deck. (its harder for dirt/dust to get into the cd player because its behind the deck. )

As you can see on this style deck, it is prone to all kinds of shit to mess up the cd player.

Of course if you don't listen to cd's its not much of a big problem. I just wanted to give you some advice if you do listen to cd's like me :p. I'm sure alpine/kenwood have different style decks that are that style. The best buy guy also demonstrated some differences between sound quality and user friendly adjustments. imo get more replies, test some decks out @ different stores and make your decision. I'm for the alpine :p

What else are you running? What gauge wire? What speakers? What amp? any other items that you have? It's just hard to give any kind of input without much info to start with.

i dont kno what gauge the wire is. i already have wires running through the car because the guy that had it before me put it in and with some subs and amp that suck. the brand is blau, ive never heard of it and its only a 100w amp. he ran the wires all wrong he put them straight up the middle and used a line out converter instead of buying a new head unit. he also did something to the front speakers and now they dont work.
so im not gonna use subs only new speakers which will be alpine in the back

Kenwood is alright, I owned a pretty nice Kenwood casette deck back in the day, but Alpine is king. I don't think having the face covering the CD slot (Alipne) vs. an exposed CD slot (Kenwood) is that big of a deal. Of all the things Alpine manufactures, head unit's are what their best at.

CLICKY for Alpine.
