so i got this head unit about 2 days ago. i got it hooked up and shit but i dont know how to attach it to the chassis. like there no where for me to bolt it too, it came with a little attachment thing but i dont know whereto attach it too. i saw a tutorial on different website and in that they used a cage to attach there headunit and then bolt it down to the chassis. but i have no cage so my just sits there and when i shift it like kinda slides out a bit, not all the way but a little bit.

how to attach headunit to chassis?

Sounds like you need a dash kit. You can get THIS one with a pocket below the radio, or THIS one with a slot for an equalizer.

I'd rather drop $15-20 bucks on a true dash kit that fits right and looks good that lose one of my strut tower covers, spend hours fabricating it to hold a radio and mounting it in the dash, that sounds nuts.

I have no idea how you could possibly make a dash kit from a the plastic strut cover in the back of the car.

Well besides the dash kit you will still need the cage aka can aka sleeve. Some dash kits for certain cars allow you to screw the radio to the kit but ours is not one of them. You absolutely need the brand specific cage. You could go to an install place and beg for one. Not all kits use them so sometimes they keep the extras laying around. Or maybe you can find them online.

Make sure you get the wire harness adapter as well. Don't cut your factory harness.
