Hardwire an iPod adapter to '93 radio/cassette & CD player combo

Does anyone know how to hard wire an iPod audio adapter to a '93 radio/cassette & cd player? Pep Boys have some on sale (from $59.95 down to $6.95) but I cannot figure out what size/type DIN plug I need. Once I get that, then I'll figure out how to pull out the radio. Or should I pull out the radio first? If so, how do I do that? Thanks. Tony

Don't they make ipod things that one side goes into the ipod and the other side has a cassette on it?

Just get an FM transmitter. But not a cheap one because they suck and are staticky.

Oh but to answer your question, there's no way to wire an iPod cable to your stock headunit. There is no provision to hook cable to and your headunit wouldn't be able receive a signal let alone read it.

Actually I think Infinity makes something that can connect iPods to factory radios but its super expensive and idk if it would work on such an old radio. Actually i don't even know how the thing works.

Thanks for the input. The cassette adapter doesn't work b/c when the car idles, the cassette heads shake and the sound distorts.. All of the FM transmitters I've tried are staticky and suck.

The adapter I mentioned on clearance sale at Pep Boys is the Infinity thing. They had ones with six different plugs to connect to the radios of different makes and models, but no one there could tell me which plug to use or how to connect it to my radio.

I've just joined this forum. Will search for older threads.

All FM transmitters are garbage, cassette is the best bet for most older vehicles without going with an aftermarket deck, which is usually the best option.
So why not just do that?
I don't know about you, but I'd rather not chance ending up with a shitty product that has tons of static, annoys me to no end and I'd sooner just listen to the music of my car. :p

My name matches again lol
dude just get an aftermarket cd player there cheap
x2. Save up and get one with a line out jack or USB port. All I do is listen to music off my Blackberry, and it doubles as a speakerphone. FM transmitters fail.
