Had a little extra time today... This is the result...

well, like the title said, i had a little extra time on my hands today. so i decided to do something i've been meaning to do for about 3 months (lol)

i painted my cold-air intake black today, here are some shots of before/during/after:

*had to buy a new air filter, old one fell apart when i removed it, was in pretty rough shape anyway*

also, notice i've DE-riced the bay a little bit since the first pic.

thats a pretty good job, looks better than polished, I think it wouldve looked cooler if you left it flat black.

yeah, after i did a couple coats of clear, i was like "Damn i shouldn't have done that, looked soo much better" oh well though. thanks for the comments

looks nice. next you should do the valve cover. and if u dont want to take yours off and have it off for a while to paint i have three stripped ones. you can take your time on it.

what do you want to do with them? sell them, or just donate for a good cause because the valve cover was my next plan of attack. if you're willing to send me one to paint, i'll just send you my current VC AS IS, when i'm done painting and installing the one you sent me.

how much is cheap, i live in front royal. which is in VERY northern Virginia. could really use a new VC. are they b18A valve covers? any VC's from 96+ b18b's? thats what i really want. they look so much cleaner.

For Some Reason It Looked Bettr In Silver To Me. . .but It Doesnt Look Bad Either In Black, It Just Kinda Stood Out A Little More In The Silver Color.

i know, thats why i painted it. i wanted to tone down the engine bay a bit. replacing the blue hoses and couplers etc. with black ones this weekend as well.

quick question about the wrinkle black paint. where can i pick some up at? any brand in particular i should look for? got a pic of what the can looks like?

i've had a little trouble finding any at local auto parts stores, but i might be looking in the wrong places. thanks for all the help.
