gsr swap map sensor question

I am almost complete with a jdm b18c1 swap into my 91 rs. the map sensor on the car is located on the firewall and the new motor comes with one on the throttle body. i have done almost the entire obd1 conversion and am just lost as to which map sensor to use? should i extend the wires and use the one on the throttle body of the new motor or continue using the one on the firewall? and either way i go, what do i do with the unused map sensor? just leave it there with nothing plugged in to it? thanks in advance for any help.

im not sure yet, i know what you are talking about though. the hoses have different ends on them but the pump mounting brackets are not interchangable either. the only thing that i figured to do was i ordered a 95 gsr power steering pressure hose so it should have the same end on it as the pump that fits the motor. i don't know if it works yet or not the hose should be here tomorrow. i'll let you know.

iight thanks. I'm getting ready to do a swap myself

Use the MAP sensor on the throttle body. Just extend the wires from the MAP sensor on the firewall to the MAP sensor on the throttle body and junk the MAP on the firewall. That's what I did on my 91 when I converted to OBD1.

alright, thanks alot i appreciate it, and one more question was about the axles. i thought that the only difference in the 95 gsr axles to the 91 was the intermediate shaft being male vs female. i just tried to install the axles i had gotten for a 95 gsr and i got a new intermediate shaft to work with them, but everthing worked fine except for the hub size. the acle will not install through the hub it is slightly too large it seems?! thanks again for your help.

that might be one downfall for the rs model that year, have you tried to use your old axles in place of the new ones? see if it will fit into the tranny and the half shaft will bolt up properly that might get you out.... if worst case you might need to upgrade your front knuckles to 94 n up integras.

Yea, i know that the old ones will fit, half shaft and all. it's just that they are no good, so when i ordered the motor i told them to throw in a set of axles too cause they were cheap. so i already bought the intermediate shaft and axles and now they don't work. just kinda irritating is all. so what exactly do i have to change in order for them to fit? thanks

It'll be easier in the long run to just get a new pair of the proper CVs.

Sorry to bring this back but it looks like the wiring for a stock DA on the map sensor is a 2 wire and the GSR is a 3 wire???
