Greddy RS BoV

So, I have a Greddy RS BOV in my '97 GS-R (B18C1). I noticed that it's really SOFT--the screw is almost all of the way out. When I rev my engine, it doesn't engage the BOV SOUND, but when I'm boosting on the HWY or something rather like that, it does. If I adjust it to be a "harder" sound, or towards the hard side, will it affect my tuning with my turbo and such?

It doesn't make the sound when you rev the engine because there isn't as much air being purged out of the upper intercooler pipe as when the turbo is making more pressure and moving more air(like when you're driving on the highway).

I have the opposite effect when I put a load on the turbo the bov doesn't work and it surges but on normal driving it works any help is appreciated

What kind is it? If there is an adjustment screw, try it.

Its a greddy pretty sure its a rs it wasn't working when installed but I softened it up and it work now but only on normal driving I get turbo surge between medium and high amounts of boost

What makes you think it wasn't working correctly at first?
If you're getting compressor surge at higher boost you need to adjust the setting on the adjustment screw. If it's set correctly it shouldn't chatter when it purges the air. It doesn't have a whistle like the HKS.
Sounds like you need to adjust the bov so it functions correctly and stop worrying about the sound it makes. Greddy bovs don't make an amazing noise to show off with.

The guy who installed the kit hooked up the vacuum line wrong a said the compressor surge was the bov sound so I hooked it up right and adjusted it. So what your saying is make it softer?
