Got a Ticket.......

My brother got pulled over yesterday morning in the Teg....

My parents told me that he got a ticket and the first thing that went through my mind was, "Oh fuck, I hope he didn't get busted for the turbo.... Oh Shit...." lol, but it turns out that he got pulled over for no tags (which the dealership has never given up.) and since the registration checked out, the cop let him go on that, but my bro didn't have the insurance card with him so he got that ticket...

Anyone know how that works?

Can he just show up to court with the correct insurance card and get it signed off with no penalty?

thanks guys

If he actually has current insurance right now, he can show proof of that and get out of it. They will drop the fine if he had insurance the day of the ticket. He'll still have to pay the court cost though. It's usually $40-$50 around here

They won't drop it if he didn't have insurance and goes and gets it though. They will check the date of the insurance policy and ticket

Yeah, you should be able to show them a current copy of an ins card and they copy it and say see ya. lol. At least that is how MO is, I got one when I use to have a card for me personally and then one for my parents dealer tag.. I gave the cop the wrong one and he said since he already wrote it that he couldn't do anything about it... gay...

edit: I didn't have to pay anything when I went....

usually, if you mail a copy within the first 14 day i believe you should get away without worrying about the fine. but i think that might just be ga

Yeah I just went to court on my court date and handled it then. I think every state is different so I would see if anyone of your friends that live in that state know anything

Alrighty then cool..... Yeah we've all had Allstate for a long time, so he's had insurance. The insurance co. never sent him a card apparently...

i think CA counts it as a fix-it ticket if you don't have proof of insurance with you.
