So i am considering installing some HID's something between 5000k to 8000k, i already have some 5900k halogen bulbs on my headlights and foglights, i read that to have a HID's you have to remove the glare guards, i know how to remove the glare guards on my fog lights but i really just want to install HID's on my headlights not my fogs. Is there a way to take the glare guards off the headlights or do they even have any?

On a reflector headlamp such as yours you do not want to remove the glare guards. Glare guards were used on headlamps that do not have a cutoff line such as reflector lamps as opposed to projectors. Where did you read that you have to remove glare guards? Removing something that was manufactured with it? Not specific enough.

Oh i see the difference here. I thought the glare guards were referring to some bulbs which have them installed on the bulb. In your case its the piece in the headlamp. I dont know the pros and cons of having and removing that out of your headlights but i would imagine that its purpose for a halogen bulb would apply if you were puttin in a hid pnp kit, even more so because of how the hid bulb will put out light in your reflector headlamp. Without knowing more though i cant comment further on your glare guard. Someone more informed on the oem glare guard will need to chime in.

I've never heard that... I believe that's if you wanna run HIDs in fogs maybe but Idk cuz I don't run em. Honestly I think it can work either way, just comes down to preference but who knows lol. The only teg tip about removing a glare guard for usdm lights is in the fogs.
