well u know i have the 87 rs integra, so far here is a list of what i want to do....

fix the body entirely

paint it black with insignia lime green

get some black rims with lime green lip trim

paint the header black and letters lime green

lime green spark plug wires

interior black with lime green trim and passenger seat orange with pink trim (for my gf soon to be fiancee) and yes i know i lose cool points but whatever!

and all interior lights...u got it! green!

and calipers lime green

like this....

now heres where the ideas come in from u guys! i want this car to be nice and quick and all but not insane, i dont wanna hit 88 miles per hour and go back to the year 1985....i want to bump the horses up to about 250-300..somewhere in that range! now so far i have the short ram, im gonna extend it to the side of the battery and maybe even down a bit into where the filter box used to be so thats maybe....2-5 horses more.

getting an aftermarket exhaust manifold is out the question unless i get one custom made....ive heard catbacks with the right headers give up to 50 more horses....so i know this leaves me with really only getting a turbo, but what would the gains be? 20-30 at best? i really dont wanna go the swap route, id prefer to stay with the lil d16...and if i go internal with rods, bearings and pistons...does that help? i want to make this a somewhat long termer, or at least get 10 to 12 more years out of it!.

thats right.
Um wow... U have a lot of things wrong:
1. Moving the intake doesn't give u hp
2. A header/exhaust/intake setup will probably give only give u around 15 hp... There's no way a exhaust will give u 50 horses
3. I can PROMISE u that u won't get near 250 hp without some type of turbo/etc.
4. When u get the turbo, yes, it's a good idea to replace the rods/pistons etc so u don't ruin the engine, but I'm not sure how much hp u will get from just replacing them, probably not too much
5. Depending on what turbo/setup etc. u go with, it can probably add between 50-200 hp
Other people feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about anything :)

no i wasnt saying moving it will give me more, just sayin the intake period will give that, but i want to extend it a bit, it just looks weird where it is now.....

Extending the length of the pipe isnt going to do anything for you unless you get the filter out of the engine bay so it can draw in cooler, outside air (ie: cold air intake). Even then there is a considerably small difference between gains.

I'd love to see you get 300 horsepower out of your D16. You'd most likely need a .57 trim t3/t4. It can support plenty of power, but thanks to the t3 exhaust side, it spools up as fast as a smaller turbo would.

Don't go buying a header if you plan on putting a turbo on the car...waste of money. Header and Manifold are two different things for 2 different applications.

You'll be somewhat hardpressed to find people agreeing with painting the interior lime green, pink and orange...but its your car, do what needs to be done for you to be happy with it.

The only way you will pull some more power out of the engine through internal work is by upgrading, not simply replacing. Increase the Bore and increase the compression. You can get the block bored out some, and get bigger, higher compression pistons. You will probably be running premium gas if you go with higher compression pistons though. You can get some more aggressive aftermarket cams to give it some more power. Upgrading the valves, springs, and retainers is also a good idea, but its more of a reliability thing than performance adder IMO.

If you turbo charge your car, you will see more power gains over building the engine (in terms of $ spent/ HP gained). As long as the motor is HEALTHY, you would be safe getting it set up with a moderate tune. If you over do it, you can damage the motor. It will get you more than 20-30 HP, lol. The D16 puts out what, 115 HP? Im no good with estimates, but I could see you getting up around 200.

well good ill be happy with 200..... yeah ive already been searching for those boring/trimming kits u can buy cause my best friend and his bro are mechanics so...free work! but as far as a turbo.. i know how they work and all but dont know what to get.....brand wise and all!

and i dont need to get another exhaust manifold if i turbo it? thought i had too.....

thats right.
lots of people like "greddy" turbos from what I understand, but u should try to do some research on ur own to decide what one u want, and u will need a new "turbo manifold" for the turbo, not a exhaust manifold

ohhh ok, thats the one where the pipes come up really hi right?

or the kind with the extra port for the turbo to bolt up too? if thats the cast i can fabricate one!

and cheesenip? go to my garage for pics!

That engine won't make more than 250hp with a nice kit. If you want close to 300hp you should swap..or buy a newer/better car. Preferably with a B.

Greddy uses Mitsubishi turbos.

Oh and that's just an aftermarket filter sitting on the stock tube. A crappy filter at that.

whats the diff in filters?

and yeah i think everyone knows greddy uses mitsubishi turbos...common knowledge, tell us something we dont already know!

Alot actually...different filters are able to filter out more microscopic particles that could make their way into ur engine. Also different filters are cleaned differently, some have to be oiled, some you can leave in the car for life while others you need to throw out.
