Gear grinddddd

3rd Super Mario Bro
So I get a minor grind going into third and majjjorrrr grinding while racing into second AND into third. Curious if I should just invest in a new trans, or throw some royal purp in it for a couple weeks to see if it helps. Suggestions?

well... sounds to me like you dont know how to shift... put in GM synchromesh trans fluid

Yeah because it just so happens i am not the best at shifting into 2nd or 3rd but I have 4th and 5th down to a science. Thanks for the help I now know what to do.

I will be using Redline by the way. Or at least Royal Purp. Synchromesh blows.

GM synchro mesh is the way to go. If not synchro mesh then get Honda MTF.

Also, why do you ask a question, then bash the answers given. If you already knew what to do, why did you even post the question?

I was grinding first, second, and hard to get into third. I did a tranny flush and used syncromesh and now it shifts like brand new...


Asshole... LOL!

when people suggest i don't know how to shift, they are the dick. now i'm sure there are people on here who that might apply to, but i ain't one of em lol. I've heard that Redline is the best way to go but I always go to C I for a little bit of inside advice. Synchromesh or Synchromesh II? And once again, I've heard bad things about flushing an older trans. I was just going to replace fluid...

And I bashed Synchromesh because I was pissed. lol

Arright well the local Zone sells Synchromesh so I'll probably pick up a couple quarts of that today and change it tomorrow. Thanks guys. I'm going to post up pics in member rides soon.

What you heard about flushing an older trans applies to Automatics because the flush can cause particles to be loosened and clog the passages in the trans and stop them up.
