well heres the question of the day, setting up a 93 acura integra for circle track racing, trying to remove all noncritical equipment out of car. Anyone know if the ecu requires the gauge cluster to remain connected in order to function correctly?

i did and it seemed to run the same, so i left it unplugged and later it wouldn't start, so i plugged it back in and it started, not sure if its the gauge cluster or the idle problem i'm having

If' you're pulling out the 2 pound gauge cluster for weight savings you need more power under the hood.

I dont know about you but if I am going to race anything I want a tach and having the temp gauge might be useful to. keep the cluster.

keep the cluster, dash and drivers seat. take out everything else. cut the skeleton from the hood, lexan windows (FAL) and ditch the bumper supports. that'll lose a few poundage.

or ditch the dash and ziptie the cluster like a boss.
