Figure I could do a write up of simple modifications to the G1 Integra because there is so little know about them. Im not going to include engine swaps simply because there is so much to talk about and in the end wouldnt be worth it
Know how
DA1 is a 4 door
DA3 is a 2 door
86 and 87s are brown top vac advance d16a1 with a slightly different bumper then later models and have slightly more rear fender roll and have flat head pistons
88 and 89s are black top electronic advance d16a1 different bumper and have a more recessed front lip that overlaps the front bumper and have more of a domed piston head
RS are base models with no electronic options.
LS usually have manual windows but come with electronic sunroof, AC, and cruise control. Very few came with electronic windows
Both models have torsion bars and struts in the front which is the cars down fall. In the rear is standard coil and strut which are fairly universal
ENGINE
Everyone always wants to get more out of their stock d16a1 and quit honestly there isnt much. But the simple things you can do make a huge difference. What most people dont know is that the d16a1 is the same thing as the DOHC ZC except a little toned down.
Simple mods that can be done is taking the cams and block from the DOHC ZC out of certain 3g civic hatchback si's and slap them straight onto the d16a1. Doing so will ad approximately 20hp if you stay with the d16a1 ECU but are a lot more agressive. If you happen to find a ZC ECU and get approximately 25hp.
Some more extreme mods can go as far as pulling the pistons, rods, valves, springs and rocker heads along with the cams and block with the d16a1 head should give a total of about 135hp. More then the stock ZC due to the combustion chamber being slightly smaller.
A simple exhaust system would also add a few hp but be sure to allow sufficient flow of coarse
Transmission
A simple easy to do modification is a 5th gear swap out of a 3g accord. Nothing special is needed just a simple pull out the old 5th gear and put on the new gear and your good to go. Doing so is NOT recommended if your going to the track. It is ONLY recommended if your Integra is a daily driver. Doing the swap will drop your rpms at 70 down to roughly 2500k which is PRIME mpg. At 2500 your car will achieve roughly 40-45mpg highway
There is simple universal short shifters that fit and also companies are starting to make specific short shifters for the G1.
Interior
Everyone that owns a G1 complains about there not being a cub holder or even a place to really mount one. A fairly simple thing to do is swap out the OEM cup holder out of a 4g accord SE-I and swapping it right into where the open slot if above the tape holder. Some may not have the open slot because it is taken by the optional Acura equalizer.
Some people have got crafty with making custom cup holders that fit between the seat and e-brake, which seems to be the easiest place.
Optional Parts/OEM
Mudflaps
equalizer
door visors
sunroof visor
rear window louvers
Recap
ZC cams and block are good easy modifications
3g accord 5th gear swap is easy and increases your mpg with small loss of overall power
Cup holder from 4g accord SE-I fits right in but are hard to find
Not a whole lot of optional stuff a side from Mugen stuff
These cars always seem to be very well taken car of and are easy to work on and last forever
Common Problems
These cars are very notorious for having fuel issues as they get closer to 200k miles. What seems to be the most common reason is the main relay. It is located down by the drivers left foot behind the fuse panel and either is faulty or has cold solder joints. Some people have been able to simply resolder the connections while others have had to replace the relay completely.
Other common problems are common with most hondas. Simple things like distributor cap being stuck and not allowing a good spark, coil pack not allowing start, O2 sensor going bad, oil in the spark plug well, and shuddering when taking off. All of which can be found with the search bar.

If anyone finds a mistake or something I should add just pm me and I will fix it.
