Fuel system

I have finnaly decided to step up to the plate with an All motor Ls and I know that you need more fuel to make more power and i had thought of the 550 injectors and a bigger fuel pump, I was just curious about what type of management system would be the most realistic? I know of the Hondata, Greddy Emanage, and the AEM ems which is rather expensive for what im looking to do. I would like to with the help of TWM set up an ITB setup on my LS and feed it a good tune up. I have a friend here who's dad is a fabricator who will fit the intake to fit the ls head, but the fuel system was my major concern. any help or insight is most appreciated.

Thanks AB

umm what else do you have done to the car to justify the need of that much fuel basic bolt ons should do fine with the stock fuel system unless you have one hell of a build up i think that setup is way overkill man

550 injectors are pretty big for an all motor setup. I use oem VTEC Prelude injectors in my setup and they're only around 350cc's. TDC Tuning in Concord can Uberdata your ecu. It's an inexpensive copycat of Hondata. www.tdctuning.com he has a dyno, too.

Have they ever made an ITB setup for an LS??

not specifically.....but they do have ITB's for the B16A, B17, Type R's and the GSR. since you can fit the other IM's like the SKunk2 on the LS, you can fit the ITB's as well.

Why would you want to increase fuel on a stock motor. I put a JDM ITR motor in my Civic, and all I did on the fuel system was upgrade to a 255lph pump. And that's even more than what I really needed!!! I could've used a stock ITR pump!!! Your car will not run good at all unless you have performance parts that justify the need for increased fuel! Even then, you will still need to tune it on a dyno!!!

yeah.....those 550's would only be usefull on a killer turbo set-up with major boost

I want to modify a set of ITBS for a type r to fit my LS, that is why im looking to feed the monster as much fuel as possible, If i do any interior work it will be a P+P for now. does that help anything if 550's are too large i saw a recomendation for 350's is that what the ideal fuel is ?

Thanks for the help all

Your gonna cause detonation if you give it too much fuel man!.... you need to figure out what your hp at crank is multiply that by the B.S.F.C (brake specific fuel consumption) (.45-.50)NA, (.55-.60)Turbocharged= Answer. Then take the numbers of injectors (ie:4,6,8) and multiply that by the injector duty cycle (usually cars max duty cycle is .85 don't want to go above that because injectors start failing)= Answer. Then finally divide the first answer by the second, this will give you an answer for how much an injector will put out (lb/hr). Once you have that, take your (lb/hr) and convert it into (cc/min) do this by multiplying (lb/hr) by 10.50= CC/min. so for example you have a 380HP car, 380(hp) x .60 (B.S.F.C)=228 then 4 (Injectors) x .80 (duty cycle)= 3.2 then 228/3.2=71.25 (lb/hr) take 71.25 (lb/hr) x 10.50=748 (CC/min). This is how you determine what size injectors your car needs... from the looks of it you car will not need anything more than 370 cc/min unless you have a NA engine that is putting out more than 250hp!

550 isn't actually that big my friends brother has a 98 gsx n has a hell of a turbo on it..he had 750cc injectors and went up to 880cc!!! now that's gettin up there! His car should run high 11's buy spring.

The reason why it isn't that big for him is because he is pushing mad amounts of air into his chambers and he needs that amount of fuel to stablize his car from Detonation! Turbocharged cars will always require bigger injectors! (IE: Lancer VIII and Subaru STI's run 550cc)
