Fuel Pump Issue?

I have a '93 integra with 1.8. Not getting fuel to filter. I have checked voltage to wires under backseat going to pump and have 12 volts. But pump was replaced 6 month ago. Weird thing is if I take all lines off of tank and re-assemble the car will run for 5-10 min then die. Then no fuel again and will not start unless I repeat previous procedure. Could this be a vacuum issue? Could it be a vapor lock? Is the a return line that can clog? Please advise!! Thanks

Not sure what you mean by pressure on fuel lines. When working for the brief time, my pressure gauge shows correct pressure. But then fuel pump stops. I can disconnect ALL lines on tamk and it will start again. I wasn't sure if there is back pressure or something causing pump to stop. Besides a bad pump.

oh when you pull them off, anyway i dont know if a bad gas cap would let a vacum build up and stop it, never seen it before

I thought about that too. So last time I had it running I left cap off. Same end result!!! Do you know what the other lines are on the tank? Are these vacuum? Is there a return line? I can't find a very good tank diagram that shows ALL lines

Replaced with an Autozone part. No mods done

Yes I have verified that. Pulled line and nothing. Pump is not running. I can hear the pump when it runs. When running I have correct pressure then it dies because pump shut off. But I have voltage to pump.

You hear the pump whining when the key is turned to the II postion? or when the vehicle is running for the short period?

I can here it prime when key is in on position. I can't here when car is running. Pipe to loud. But when it stops running the pump will not prime until I remove all lines from tank.

hmm..it sounds like a bad pump to me..but for some reason Main Relay is on my mind too. if you have time i would remove the relay and open it up to check the solder joints. If they are worn / broke/ split, solder the back up or replace it. Do you have a warranty on the pump? If so, i would use it just to get another pump. If its free, then why not..

I thought about relay too. Looked good but bought a new one any way. I want to say pump too but the last one put on 6 month ago was put on for the same reason. So I am looking for another cause. Very well could be a bad pump. But why would it run after lines pulled and then quit? Everytime!! very confusing!!

that is confusing...i would look further into a clogged feed or return line..not much else before it gets to the fuel rail. Hows the condition of your gas cap? Have you ever had any Evap CEL codes or repairs? How much gas is in the vehicle?

I would love to check return line!! I cant find a diagram of the lines. I am not sure which one it is. I blew out line from tank to filter. Do you know which line is the return?
