Front Speaker Volume

The front speakers in my Integra are not very loud.. you can barely hear them. I originally thought it was the speakers the PO installed, so I installed new Inifinity speakers. I think it might have helped a little.. but barely..

If I adjust the fader to the front, I can hear them.. but then I can't hear my back speakers as well. When it's equal you can just barely hear the fronts.

Is this normal for them, or what? I'm a little confused.

could be something wrong with the wires, or just the way the car is designed can cause audio stage problems. i have stock in the back and some new ones up front, and i like the way it sounds...definitely made an improvement, that makes me think its not the stage that is the issue. if you want more sound period just get a 4chan amp and wire up your mids.

^ he means get an amp for your door speakers. something with 4 channels and probably around 300 watts. Alpine makes some really nice ones.
But as far as your problems goes, my vote it wiring. second would be something with the head unit?

I replaced both sets of my door speakers with infinity ones and they are powered by an Alpine 200 watt and they go crazy loud.

ya amping the mids will make it alot louder, and is pretty much necessary for any SQ contest, not saying you would enter one, but when modding a car, do it right, right? lol. if your not comfortable doing it yourself go into a car audio place and talk to whoever is up front and see if theyre down to do some personal work. its cheaper for you and the other guy makes more money typically. if you build up some trust with that guy then he will suggest you good parts and the right people to buy from. my friend is an "audio engineer" or something like that at Univ of Houston. hes my goto man! also, car audio gurus have forums, they may be of substantial help.

Just throwing it out there....

Have you checked the fader?
Yup, first post.

I think i'll try the amp idea. Another thought I had is maybe the wiring is backwards. (Pos/Neg reversed.) They will still work but I hear sound quality is different. The head unit is fine. It came out of another vehicle I have.

I'll have to wire up that amp tomorrow. I wonder where a good spot to put it is..

So I noticed today my right side is louder than the left. I'm going to try swapping the positive and negative wires and see if it helps. Maybe I have them wired up backwards.

I've got boxed 6x9's for my rears and some good Alpines for my fronts, both powered off the deck, and my rears dominate my fronts by a long shot as well. I'm getting an amp right away and trying that out.

I usually take my grills off and watch the speaker, should come out towards you on songs with more of a hard hitting bass.

Are you sure the right is louder or is it because it has less obstructions? Like your leg. I was the idiot that sat in the middle of the car adjusting my stereo.

It was quite noticeable on the right. I reversed the positive and negative wires on the left speaker and it sounds a lot better. Still quieter than the rears, but not nearly as bad. I have 9x9's in a box in the trunk too lol.

I'm satisfied with it for now. I'd like to get some amps wired up.

check the wires from the speakers because if you have the possitive ang nagitive switched it will make that problem
