FourDoor MakeOver

after some thought, and i've been thinking about it ever since i bought the car, that i didn't like how the wings west kit. its true when people say a car can only be built not bought. the teggy didn't have that same flow like i did with my civic, which IMO i believe was a pretty sikk lookin coupe and one of a kind. the wings west kinda made my car look like a "SHOW CAR" and i wanted a different appeal. don't get me wrong... the kit looked sweet, but iono... only when you build a car is when you get that feeling that its yours. so instead i wanted a daily driven tuned sedan... USDM Spec.. with a lil JDM goodies here and there.. haha

with this waiting....

Honestly i already think it looks better without the wings west, and i can't wait to finish the appearance of the exterior. As of right it's gonna be looking kinda ghetto with the primered lip and the black sideskirts, so in a way... its only STAGE 1 of the make over.... lol. i'd have to say i'm 35% satisfied so far.. but i still have a long way to go. So far i'm taking the same steps i did with my civic... and when people say time is patience... LISTEN! it pays off.

So far my plans are to get find a 98+ rear bumper, color match the front lip and side skirts.. which is a HUGE MUST for me, buy some mud guards, find some SSR TYPE X or ROTA AUTO X rims... and then pretty much SLAM the 4dr.... after that suspension and internal work on the motor.

oh yea here's pics to remember the civic

Well, I looked good with the WW kit as well. You know theres the replica OEM kit for the DB8 on eBay. Just FYI.

Can't wait to see it "done."

haha yea i've actually seen the 4dr replica version. it looks not bad except for the moldings on the door part... that part i'm not to shibby about... lol but other than that it looks pretty good.

liked it with the kit personally
i like it too, but the car was bought like that... so i didn't get that "built not bought" feeling like i did with the civic, so thats one of the reasons i decided to change it.

got off work and decided to slap on the lip and snap some pics... cause you know i'm a pic whore...

pics didn't turn out that great since the sun was going down... you barely notice the stock side skirts... but ehhh watevers. when i have funds i'll color match it all. after putting the lip on, it looked pretty shibby and the OEM ITR lip slipped on the bumper PERFECTLY without any problems. since i have nothing more to do on the outside (no more funds)... time to move on the next project, imma install the skunk2 dual bend and see if theres any big difference.

What's in the package?!

not bad for $61 bucks huh? i'm a pic whore as well as a ebay shopper... got hooked since i'm bored @ work. the install wasn't that hard since i already knew how to install one when i had the civic. The only hard part was alligning everything for the bolts to go in and the fact that since teggy's have ABS, i had to remove the metal bracket off for a cleaner look. i'd say it was a 2hr job, cause i was picky and wanted the bar to look perfect, tight, and centered.

and here's a pic with the sk2 shifter and knob installed

i think this total package cost me... $90. bought this way back when i had the civic with the plans of the 5spd swap. new knob, used dual bend shifter. the install on this one too was kinda tricky. you'd have to get underneath the car and remove the rubber hangers with WD-40 in order to get a good reach with the bolts on the stabilizer bushings. after the install and test drive, the shifting feels shorter, smoother, and easier. the only problem is that you feel the b-pipe hitting against 2nd and 4th gear @ bumpy roads, but it doesn't bother me.
