i have this little red light that tells me when i hit v-tec and it comes on at about 4800 RPMs and my v-tec kicks in so i thought my ecu was chipped but i saw this relay when i was working on my car and decided to investigate. this is what i found.

little red light

little black box says "SENSOR" on it has a red led light and a white knob on the side

Relay, dont really know what its wired to

im kinda sure this is an old alarm but i was never told of it. lolol

there is also a white wire running to my ecu, dont know what it is.

anyone have any ideas as what is controlling my v-tec and should i remove it?

The LED is tapped into the wire that produces voltage when VTEC engages. The box with a red light on it is part of the alarm. It is a sensor that either activates when it is shaken (vibration) or when it senses a certain sound pitch/level.

Primary opens at 4800 I believe. secondaries open at 5400? Someone with a b18c1 can elaborate.

the only thing that ull probly have to do is reconnect the starter wire if it is cut. any othere wire should just be taped into the factory wiring

k after looking over ur pics. the box with the light is the shock sensor and looks like the starter wire is cut. that would be the black and white wire that has butt conectors on them. put those back together and just disconnect every other wire that goes to the module. just make sure every thing is taped up after ever thing is removed. and i would take all those t-taps off any wire so its not all cluttered under the dash
