fan runs on and off and causes battery to die

My radiator fan would kick on and was told it would come on and off whenever it wanted from a repair shop. I have it a a local non acura repair shop and am getting a run around as to to the cause of the fan draining the battery. They have told me a relay needed to be replaced and they did that and now they say another relay needs to be replaced. He said a relay is like an inch long block. I do not know about cars and am wondering how many "relays" are involved in the control of the fan. Am I getting the run around or what else coluld could cause the fan to run on and off on its own enough to drain my battery every day. Any help? Sarah

nothing from nowhere
well you have a radiator fan relay a a/c condenser fan relay and a cooling fan timer any one of them could be bad.if the timer goes bad that could cause the fan to stay on.:)

Wait... What?
chances are if it takes them more than two tries to fix something as simple as replacing relays, you need to find another shop
