Extremly slow acceleration on my 2000 integra

So my Acura Integra all of the sudden deceided to make a popping noise this morning only to be followed by one more pop three seconds after the first. Stange I thought until I came to a stop and tried to pull off. My rpms were well below where they normally are and when I hit the gas the car decided to creep up to 5km then 10km before it decided to giddy-up. But wait...I've come to another stop and the same thing when trying to start going again....foot on the gas and the car goes extremely slow and finally starts going after 10km. Come to another stop and my temp gauge is racing to H...gets all the way there too. Again I start to pull off extremely slow and the temp gauge shots back down to normal...hmmm...this doesn't seem good. Pull into a garage and leave the car with them before causing any damage...Now I sit and wait for the diagnosis which I'm sure isn't going to be in my favour....ANY THOUGHTS ON WHAT'S GOING ON WITH MY RIDE?
Thanks all!

Cel?? I changed the spark plugs just now and now the car won't start----as per machanic...all four cyclinders are reading 50psi after a compression test????

I changed the wires, plugs, gas filter and even the air filter....I just got a call from the mechanic saying that there is a valve leak now which may be the problem...this happened this morning and he's already dinging me without fixing the problem...he also mentioned there might need to be some work done to the headers???? This is not my normal mechanic just someone who was convenient for me to get the car off theh road...hmmmm. and no check engine light. Well this the check engine light came on about three years ago, got is checked out by my mechanic and the code came up with some sort of vaccum leak. He reset it and I haven't seen the light come on since.

OMG it has VTEC?
Well he is lying about the headers cause you only have a header. 50psi seems very low but I really don't know as I am not very smart.

Integra God
possible blown headgasket if it started overheating like that. how does the mechanic know a valve is leaking? did he do a leakdown test? if so, ask for the numbers and proof.

Okay, okay, okay. Now I'm being told that the water pump is leaking and my timing belt is getting wet causing the belt to jump two notches (my timing is off now) causing the lag when I hit the gas......sound right to anyone?

i was guessing your timing belt skipped a few teeth causing the sluggishness, possibly bending a valve

Same problem

Back when I first got my 95 teg auto same thing happened. Turns out I had a small hole in my water pump leaking coolant. Idk why this would cause the resulting problem but after fixing my pump all was well go figure.
