Exhaust Manifold Leak

i just changed my exhaust manifold from my ls to a USDM type R 2001... and now it has a minor leak..
smells like a lawn mower now.. hahaha


ok i tightened all the bolts.. to about 33 ft lbs... however!! this is probably the problem... i didnt replace the gasket...

but it looked fine to me.. anything i can do to help... probably change the gasket rite??? sand some of the surface.. im guessing?

gasket is your best bet. Id sand it if theres some carbon build up from the leak, shouldnt take much.

if you have a grinding wheel with a wire brush use that to smooth out both surfaces. apply neverseez to both sides, replace gasket. tighten bolts to appropriate torque in corrrect pattern.

the pattern i did im not sure its correct.... do u happen to know it?

im not sure right now because im not home right now and i dont have my repair book but as long as you dont favor one side when tightening and progress your tension. dont fully tighten one then fully tighten another. tighten little by little moving from one side to another, you should be fine.
