Evo1 exhaust clattering

like stated above CI, i've searched this forum and also the all motor forum for answers but can't come up with anything.
I have a 99 GSR and i have a Greddy Evo1 exhaust 2.5in diameter, its the same as the evo2 but it isn't stainless steel, now my porblem is that its hitting a metal plate just before it crosses over my rear-right hand side axel. the plate is coming down from the floor(i guess) of the car. i wish i could take some pics but i dont have a camera right now, but will try and get some pics up. anybody that have this exhaust have this problem? do guys think this exhaust might be the wrong year? any help would be appreciated, thanks.

it may not be hitting anything at all. I had an SP2 that had a loud chatter right @ 4k rpm. Hella annoying. I counldn't find anything hitting the exhaust, seemed like it was comin from the inside of the resonator.

oh really? well i know for sure that my pipe is hitting something coz i kinda solved the problem by adding a metal hanger to supress the vibrations but the pipe is still hitting that metal plate i think when i just started the car. when there is the most engine vibration pretty much, but other than that once the car warmed up or i get going the clatter goes away and just comes back in occasion. thanks for the reply tho

my evo2 exhaust had a clattering noise at idle the springs on the bolts where it bolts to the header got weak and collapsed so it got loose and made the springs rattle. make sure its tight then make sure all your hangers are still good.
