engine serial number list

i was lookin thru craigslist and some engines are for sale taken apart(block head tranny...) and thought it might be a good idea to have a post where you (each member) lists his engine serial number and tranny number.

so when you re about to buy an engine you can enter the number in search and see if it belong(ed) to someone here and was stolen.

so if the engine gets stolen the person can go back and edit the post to add STOLEN warning

or something of that sort

not sure about posting vin number might be too much info but engine should be ok right?

ye i mean so when you buy an engine you can search for that engine number in the members database to at least make sure its none of ours we buying from ebay or craigslist. or even worse, buying your own parts
