So with all the issues im having im saying screw it and gonna put a new motor in the car. Obviously i can get the same b18a thats in there for the easiest fix im assuming. but what other motors will fit without much more modifications?? Im looking to do this on a tight budget and im not looking for something crazy, just a good strong reliable fix. Wheres a good place to find a good used ready to install motor?? thoughts and help would be great

Thanks

HMO sells the B20B for about $700 shipped. I bought one from them and it's great. Super clean when I got it and runs like a champ. And it's a direct swap from the B18A1. Any mods you have will transfer right over

the B20 can run on an OBD0 computer, dizzy and injectors? lol damn why havent I done this.
Cuz buying a b20 motor is not worth it, you only gain a little. You can do mods that yield higher gains for cheaper. But back to the op, you can swap pretty much any b series with no issue. Vtec requires a tad bit more money and work. I'd say if you're on a budget, go with the b18a/b, or b20. It's hard to find a quality one for cheap. Hit up Craigslist, and rebuild whatever you find.

Well he didn't ask for ways to make more HP, he needs a new motor completely. HMO also sells B18A1's, but they cost a little more. The B20B is a nice, cheap replacement if you're not looking at making tons of power. You can somewhat boost a B20B stock, but nothing over 225whp. Actually, probably a little less than that. More like 200whp to be safe

That was to the other guy about the b20 :)

And yes, you can use the b18b, you just need to transfer your obd0 stuff over, or convert your setup to obd1. Unless you're already obd1, then its just an easy swap straight over, but if hmo is selling the b20 cheaper, then just do that, just remember to swap over your correct obd? parts.

Ah, alright I see that now. I think the 90-91 is ODB0 and 92-93 is OBD1. But yeah just swap over the dizzy and any other other OBD specific parts to the new motor (assuming it's a B20B). If it's a B18B I'd just go ahead and get the conversion harness to OBD1

this.

I'd convert anyway though, I'm going to with my b17 swap in my 90rs

yeah you could depending on what year da you for ex 90-91 are obd0 which you have to buy a obd2 to obd1 to obd0 harness and if you have 92-93 only have to buy obd2 to obd1 harness I believe someone correct me if I'm wrong
