how do you get a double din to stay mounted in a 99 ls, i got a 7" double din and i have from crutchfield and it says it will fit my car. i took everything apart and have the radion in the slot but there is no brackets on the side of inside my dash to screw the radio to it or in the back of the dash. i ordered a metra dash kit and it wont even fit inside of the dash with the brackets on the radio, so please help me i dont know what to do and need my radio installed.

it did, it told me
1. screw on those clips from the kit onto the sdie then put into the dash but it wont fit with them on and theres no way they will fit on it inside the dash.

I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i guess i will do this 2 help otheres.... here goes

1.file down the top and bottom of the slot that you will slide your double din(dd) sleve into. once those are filed down the top and the bottom, not the sides slide it in and check for fitment, it should go all the way in and stop just were u filed down but on the sied.

2. then once u know it fits take out the sleve and screw the sleve into the radio but dont screw them in to tight kinda wanna keep them a little loose

3. slide it in check for fitmnet and re earange if necessary take it back out put wires in then slide the sleve back in all the way and clip the trim faceplate on and it shld b in there snug.

Yeah there's nothing there to keep the radio in for security, wrecks, or racing. You should get a backstrap and some metal tapping screws and secure it to the dash bracket. The stereo will have a threaded hole for this purpose.

My friend has an Audi S4 breaking 10 seconds. The damn double DIN Eclipse flew out right as he was upshifting and got smashed to shit. It's been in there for over 2 years.

You need to get yourself a car alarm. Otherwise you might as well consider your stereo a paycheck for some scumbag thief.
