Last night i was down at the strip and i ran into a friend of mine who had an ls. He always talked about turboing it and last night he told me he did. I checked out the car and it looked really good. He's running 5 psi on it right now. When i asked him what he's using for tuning he said stock ecu and just dsm 700 cc injectors?? That can't be good can it? He did nothing else to the car except slap some bigger injectors on it. Car seemed to run real good too he gave me a ride. I'm confused though...that can't be good to just put bigger injectors on the car without anything else right?

u cant run a bigger injector without a emu(engine management unit) so he's bullshitting u. if he is running turbo. he either has a pretuned or a some type of tuned emu.

I don't agree with the fact that you need an emu to run bigger injectors. I ran bigger injectors on my gsr with just a fpr. But the fact that he's using dsm injectors on his integra sounds like bs. But hey never owned a dsm so wouldn't know.

yea idk if he is just running injectors there's no way his car is running too good then. I just was amazed that the car ran good at all from him just using larger injectors....definately not the way to do it.

alot of people convert from honda's saturated injectors to the DSM peak and hold. i wouldn't run right if thats all he had though. you would have to have atleast an FMU or rising rate FPR. and how the hell is he running 5 psi anyway. just about every turbo on the market has the internal wastegate set to atleast 7 or 8 psi and i don't think anyone sells a dashpot spring for that low of pressure. i don't think you could get an external wastegate to be that weak either.

Intresting to know with the injectors but they do make wastegate springs as low as 4lbs, well thats as low as I've seen. Don't see the point, 4lbs on a toyota celica, 2 secs quicker in the quarter. :what:

Well I know its a truck but 4 pounds on a Toyota Tacoma 3.4L stock makes 190hp and 220tq, put a STS turbo kit on pushing 4lbs and you got 224rwhp and 278rwtq thats a pretty big increase. Also they claim 2.75 secs quicker in the quarter. Guy from PA I used to live by put a kit on his corolla pushing 4lbs and thats all that little motor needed to haul some serious ass. So guess it depends what car and motor your working with. Some are more responsive to boost than others. Good thing is you really don't need an intercooler or anything with boost set that low, so you practically have instantaneous power and a really great curve.

Also greddy makes a kit for the 1.6 liter miata for 1300 bucks, 30+rwhp on stock engine with 5lbs. Give me 30whp for 1300 bucks with something else other than spray. :what:
