do most time attack cars/street projects have ps

do people remove ps for time attack tracks like tskuba circuit etc... its obvious people remove it for drag but what about time attack?

some do and some dont, depends on the vehicle, the shop, and what their goal is with the car.

also goes with driver's feel. some drivers like the rawness of non power steering and some do.
so there are alot of variables not just one.

Most car do without it. It easy to outrun factory power steering pumps on hot track days. If you're driving hard enough it is possible to over work the pump causing the p/s fluid to get too hot and have inconsistent flow characteristics and can cause the pump to fail, which will usually result in a wrecked, expensive car on a track

YES BUT THERE ARE UPGRADES, TO UNTURN THE FACTOR SETTINGS SO THAT IT WONT BE OVER WORKED

True, they could just run an aftermarket electric P/S pump but I've never seen any of them do it. Every one I have ever seen has a manual rack

From what I've seen alot of drift cars use power steering, way easier to throw the car around. Also with time attack I would say it depends more on the car than the driver, some will respond better without it, others might make it more difficult and less responsive.
