diy shaved trunk and repaint

so those of you who keep tabs on me might know that my rear window broke in january. Rather than buy a new window for $500 i opted to get an entire lid with glass for $200. Only problem was it was black, and it came off a 94 which was a bad paint year on integras especially black ones.

When i got it it had plugs in the spoiler holes, and some ricer h emblems on the back .... so rather than put the spoiler on and throw my acura emblems on it, i decided ill take a stab at bondoing.

the presanding pics

filled em in (used tape underneath the spoiler holes so the bondo had a back)

then rolled around for a while with the trunk just black rustoeleoum

finally got tired of that, had some metallic silver that almost matches the VSM of the car ... so i painted it

doesnt look too bad ... the middle was dented under the emblem, and the top you can still see the outlines of the spoiler holes ... one day when i get the car repainted complete ill have all that fixed ... but at least for now the cars all silver even if its diff shades

going to oregon next week so thats the reason for the studded tires .. i still have the SI rims

i guess his old ones cracked, and hasn't had time to paint these. He doesn't want 98-01's because they're played...

I think it's pretty nice and on the freeway no one will know the difference. 2 points for the bike rack though. Never saw that before.

looks good, ill do this on mine soon...maybe one day when its warm out. emblems are already removed. i also want to do my antenna, i gutted the car, so its useless. and i dont plan on putting a radio in it.

not too bad, its good for a temp job. im pretty sure you'll get the holes welded shut when you decide to do the entire car.

i wouldn't have done the repair like this at all. it was a sloppy job. it'll fall apart soon. you should have put your emblems back on instead.

cheap fixes ftl. welding is the way to go.

not a good diy, in my opinion. just my two cents
