shorter shocks should lower the car, should ride similar to a stock dc since im pretty sure the spring rates for the two cars are similar

Just cut your springs, preferably with a torch and no measuring. On second though, no springs at all should do the trick :rolf:

First of all I was only messing around. Secondly, you already fail because you're looking for a cheap and ghetto way to lower a car. Lowering a car for the sake of being low fails enough as it is, let alone when you try to do it on the cheap. Lowering to a certain extent for performance sake (i.e. for lowering the center of gravity of the car) is acceptable if you're going to use the car for motorsports, just so long as you don't FUBAR the suspension geometry. If you're doing it for any other reason, don't bother.

Why don't you do some research, learn the basics of how a car works, and learn how to speak English before you chastise me. I'm in college by the way. You probably could have figured that out if you took the two seconds to look at my age (hint: <-------it's about three inches that way on the screen). However, that may be a little too much to expect from a n00b failure.

Oh and the OP just got :eek:wnded:

OP, you should really know all your facts before you verbally attack someone, or you come across looking like an ass.

if you use the DC shocks upfront you're gonna need to use the DC forks. you should be able to run that setup with minimal problems, but if you're gonna get after market stuff later you might as well just keep your car stock and save up until you find the right setup for what you want. Check craigslist or the for sale threads on here, G2ic or team integra. check out the hybrid suspension thread on g2ic for more on DA/DC setup options.

You should do some research. Companies like Koni, Eibach, KW, Sachs, JRZ, Ohlins, and JIC make exceptionally well-designed dampers, springs, and full coils. At this point, I highly doubt you're intelligent enough to understand how to read a shock dyno test, but if you are you should check out tests done on these company's products. The vast majority of professional race teams and privateers run suspension products from one of these companies.

Think about it, if stock setups were the best for performance, then why do we who are into motorsports change them to extract greater performance from our cars?

Essentially what you're saying - and I'm sorry if I misinterpret you're failed attempt and the English language - is that you care about having a low car and a soft ride.

Basically you want to lower your car for no reason other than looks. Guess which demographic modifies cars only for looks?

RICERS

If you want to put DC shocks and springs on a DA go for it. It's really your choice and I'm sure you can make it work. Truthfully I don't really care what you do to your car, you've already proven you're an uneducated ricer. However, don't come on this forum, ask a n00b question and then flip out because you can't take a joke. We all mess with n00bs a little on here; and when we were n00bs we got it too.

BTW your "cuzing's" Civic probably handles like sweaty balls.
