So i finally got my whip back yesterday its drove fine till I went to the store now when its idling the rpms jumps and it dies

check your dizzy ground on the thermostat housing mine was loose and it would spike the revs and die

The rubber on the surround of the hole for the spark plugs isnt going to affect the performance of the car. Its just to keep dirt and dust from falling down there.
