cylinder acting weird need help

hello my car is being stupid lol my 92 integra is only firing on 3 cylinders but when i take the plug out and lay it on the valve cover and start the car the plug and wire are firing fine but when i put it back in the engine the wire isint firing the plug like the cylinders dead is weird not sure what to make of it

so I would start with a compression test
and make sure your getting fuel to that cylinder .

cylinder is getting good compression and fuel its weird car worked fine monday but today its missing and that cylinder is acting fucked up i took the plug out set it on the valve cover started it and the plug was sparking out it back in the engine and it ran fine shut the car off started it up again and it started missing and running on 3 cylinders again plugs are brand new wires are brand new dosent make any sense to me if the plug is sparkin out of the car and the cylinder is getting fuel why does the cylinder go dead when the plug is in it ?????

Maybe the injector has failed and you arent getting fuel into that cylinder.

well i think it is getting fuel but ill check it out whats the best way to check the injector ?

You could pull the injector out and put it in a jar with the wiring clip still attached and see if it sprays fuel.

i dont think thats the problem there was also a few times when i took the plug out and set it on the valve cover and there was no spark at all but then other times it did spark its very weird never ran into anything like this before

so my car is only running on 2 cylinders now bought new injectors for it and its still doing the same thing seems like it may even be running worse now picking up a distributor from a friend tomorrow maybe that is the problem could it possibly be the msd cap coil rotor and wires i have on it ?

I know this sounds stupid, but I have personally had it happen to me in my 3g accord. The little metal solenoid (i guess to call it) that is actually what the spark jumps from..

Anyways I have had a fault spark the blew that piece of metal off and I wasnt getting combustion cause there wasnt anything for the spark to ground off on.

Its hard to explain but a simple way to check is to just pull your spark plugs out of the head and check them

well at this point im willing to check anything lol kinda unlikely that it would happen to 2 dirrent plugs at the same time though

not sure what the compression test results were i had a friend do it while i was at work and he said it was good i just changed distributor car is running on all 4 cylinders again but still has a miss in it also changed map sensor and it helped abit also
