cv axle popped out

Ok i got a new cv axel the other day and i put it on then i drive a couple of mins and i pops out of the transmition what could possibly be the problem besides its the wrong one???

If it is the right one, you may have not pushed it in all the way. If it looks to be into the transmission all the way, the pull it back out and compare it to the old one if you still have it. -Aaron

Sounds like you're first assessment was correct, they gave you the wrong axle.

Are we talking about the axle that has a bracket that bolts to the engine?

either that or you didnt install all the way to 'snap' the snap ring in its place.

Take it out and compare it to the old one. I once got a napa axle and it was too short. The dumbass over there said it will work. I drove around for 3months before it came out. Screwed up my tranny realll good.

But yeah, take it out and compare, if it is shorter just exchange it.

I've had this problem with a previous transmission. Axles were oem and correct length but the driver side kept popping out. I think the transmission housing inside where the snap ring locks in place was wore out. I could put it in all the way but it would still pull out. I ended up just putting another transmission in.
