Custom Hood

At the risk of a further skirmish into the world of bad taste. ( in somes opinions ) I have started to design my own ram air hood for my 93 GSR. Yes I am replacing the stock rusted hood with yet another abomination from the OME. It will have a built in filter with the option of turning off the ram air and using under hood air when it rains. I am making it out of aluminium and I will keep you guys informed. I enjoy comments good or bad. I enjoy creating rather than buying someone elses mass produced items. For those of you who can't keep clicking and buying. For those of you who can " More power to you Brother "

Off topic but I liked the detail on your wing, but would you consider making a spark plug cover for a ls non vtec valve cover? Been thinking of making my own but been meh about it.

And for the hood you should upload a pic of what you have drawn up for feedback. When I read it first thing that popped in my mind was a 07 sti hood scope...

Edit: or the hood from a member on this sight (guy from nerk) something like that I think

Ls plug cover I made...not to thread jack but as far as the hood keep it simple

So you're gonna have a filter on top of the hood? Am I misunderstanding something? I would think that when it rains a pool would form around the filter and completely ruin it. Unless you install a fish gill like filter :D

What I am doing

I am going to make about a 4" scoop that is on top of the hood on the passenger side of the hood. When you open up the hood the other half of the ram air is there with rubber seal so that only the outside air comes in unless you pull a lever to shut off outside and go to under hood air when it is raining. I make MRI tables at work and there is no filler or bodywork done on them. My hood will be the same. Sorry hard to explain when it is done it will blow you away. Or upset the applecart again. LOL
