Crower Cams

I'm looking at getting some Crower Cams for my b16 head I'm completly building the head I eventually want to go turbo but not right now. My question is Crower makes 2 different cams I'm looking at both stage 2, ones for turbo and the others for n/a. My question is would it be safe to run the stage 2 turbo cams without a turbo for awhile. Or should I just buy the n/a cams. But if I would by the n/a cams would it be safe to use a turbo with them later down the road?

Seems like your going to be wasting money at that point. Just wait until you go turbo to get all the stuff. You'll end up buying N/A cams, spending money on that, then when you wanna go turbo, you'd have to sell those cams (won't get everything back from the cams) and then buy the turbo ones.

The other thing, I don't know too much about cams but I wouldn't put turbo cams on a n/a and I wouldn't put n/a cams on a turbo. Then again, I can't give you a 100% on that answer but that's just my logic on it.

Edit: Isn't GSR cams good for turbo?

Do you think I'm better off just building the motor and turbo it at the same time? I heard if you add to much power to a motor at one time it ups the risk up blowing. Is that true?

I don't think you need to worry about spending money on turbo cams right now. Just use your b16 cams. Who ever told you that adding to much power will blow your motor needs to be kicked.

O.k. I've been thinking about doing the basic ls/vtec swap no build and build later down the road to save on money.

All you need to worry about if boosting are pistons. Stock block is good up to 400+ hp. Check out the new honda tuning. They did a 507hp stock block, except pistons, b16.
