confusing tricky overheatting problem

Ok so i have a problem with my 1.8L 1993 Acura Integra. it has been over heating when i sit at stop signs or red lights. First it had been overheating and the upper tube was hotter then the devils nut sack but the lower one was cold so i found out about the pressurized system and replaced the thermostat so i now know that water is flowing due to the fact that the bottom hose is now warm.

so now when i drive the temp is fine because water is being forced to flow through the system but when i stop the temp needle creeps up between the middle mark and redline of the temp gauge. i have now replaced the radiator fan switch that is screwed into the thermostat housing but still no luck. I have also replaced the fan relay and ive tested the fan so i know they work fine.

i have also already done a full tune up.

I have noticed however that if its running hot at a standstill for more than 8 minutes the fans turn on. Can anyone please help me with what i could test or change to fix the problem WITHOUT just wiring the fan to a switch?? id really appreciate the help.

oh i forgot to mention it cools down if i rev it really high because the water pump forces water to flow faster. so know that water is flowing

i had the same problem and i did the thermostat and fan switch / relay.. changed the upper rad hose, and after that it was fixed... before hand when i would stop at a red light... if the light was long my idle would drop little bits until it almost cut out... 8 mins seems to be a long time... it should only take 1-2 mins for your fan to come on if the motor is already warm... i would do what mr gurley says and bleed the cooling system, and also there is a slight chance that your fan isn't getting the message to turn on at the right time. also change your pcv valve if you haven't done it recently or at all. a bad pcv can cause several little issues... but run seafoam through your brake booster vac line to the intake manifold first.. it made my car run like new. hope some of that helps.

change your water pump and it should fix it, my car was doing this as well, i changed the water pump and fan switch and it fixed it.

What Dtackett said, I had the same problem as you, I didnt have any coolant, double check again and change your water pump its going bad, before hoses start bursting left and right.

i changed the water pump when i got the car but thanks everyone. i followed wiring diagrams and finnally figured out that it was a damn fuse that was broken, itsz fine now -.-.....i spent a total of $123.56 to get to this point to put in a $1 fuse to fix everything....DAMMIT!!!!!!!

After reading this Im confused as to how a fuse fixed it ? You stated that you checked the fans and they work and also that the fans do come on ? What fuse was it ?
